Tonight is the WWE’s last show before Summerslam. Today is also the day where it was reported that former grappler Lance Cade has passed away at the extremely young age of 29. Heart failure is being reported as the cause… Yes, it does suck to start off a show with news like this, but that’s the way it goes. Rest in Peace Mr. Cade.

Another week, another Smackdown… hopefully my apartment won’t pretend to burn down again this time? Guess what, the alarm went off early Monday morning as well! Right after drinking my face off at the Calgary Stampede into the wee hours… I live on the top floor of an apartment building, and lucky me, people have been working on repairs all week… it wouldn’t be so bad if I didn’t have a night job. Up here in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, we kicked off the Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth – The Calgary Stampede today. Well technically it starts on Thursday, and technically, it’s not that great, rather just a midway that travels throughout the Great White North and a big rodeo competition. It’s been a weird Friday already, especially in South Africa as Brazil got upset, and Ghana threw away a certain victory in the World Cup. After last night’s Fatal Fourway ended with the NXT guys laying out all of the competitors from RAW (except Sheamus), we were left some interesting things that should go down on RAW… from what I hear from Al, tonight’s main event was crazy… He’ll chime in on this in his awesome RAW reflections, but I figured I do up a “suffering” time for y’all too. Before the show starts, we are “treated” to a clip package of last week, focusing on the death of the dead man and Kane’s search to find the killer. Turns out it was… a broken orbital bone, and he’s on the shelf. They had a battle royale to determine who would replace him in the Fatal Fourway PPV, and low and behold, the guy who put him on the shelf (Rey Mysterio) won. BUT, the big question is whether or the NXT invasion on RAW will cross over to Smackdown, but whatever… let’s suffer through some SmackDown, shall we?

Holy crap, another Monday of two shifts worth of work… fantastic. Plus tonight’s episode is three bloody hours long. Sigh, I’ll be watching it with heavy discrimination as the cast of the A-Team movie is hosting, including Rampage of UFC fame, and little patience.
It’s called a viewer’s choice one (or so they say, I’d bet most is preplanned or stupid stipulation voting)…
Al Creed’s Philadelphia Flyers are still in the NHL Playoffs, and thus I’m hoping he alleviates me of RAW sooner than later, but until such small mercies are in place…. STRAP ON YOUR TORTURE DEVICE OF PREFERENCE, IT’S SUFFERING TIME!

What the hell is wrong with me? Actually don’t answer that, jerk. Really, it stems from having worked from about 8:30 AM through 11:00 PM today only to come home and suffer through another episode of RAW for the insane folk who attempt to follow my reviews. Fatigue, amongst other… umm… things, impair my judgement? Me lose brain cells? Meh… let’s get onto our show as RAW is Punked tonight…. just not the good kind of punked, like Bad Religion or NOFX.

The first thing I notice as the camera pans through the crowd, is a guy with a “Bring Back Heat!” sign. I miss Stevie Night Heat… plus some of the fantastic matches that were allowed to occur on that program. Jimmy Yang and Paul London had some stellar bouts…. probably my favorites of all. And, the pregame show to PPV’s were great too…. ahh, but we can’t live in the past Mr. Guy in the Crowd, can we? We need to live in the present, as in tonight’s rendition of Smackdown!
