I’m obessed with – BRITISH SHOWS  by Laurie_Strode

I think I am becoming obsessed with British shows. It all started last Sunday when we were sitting around the house, flipping the channels and came across Being Human. If you haven’t seen this show, I really recommend it, I think it is just so amazing. It’s about a Werewolf, Vampire, and Ghost who are trying to live… you guessed it as humans. I don’t know what it is about it, but it truly captured me from jump.

Of course I have always had a thing for shows not created in America. When I was younger we had WAM Encore and I watched The Tribe. It was a show about a virus that killed all the adults, and was filmed in New Zealand. That one caught my attention because of the camera work. I was in… I’d like to say the 8th grade when I first watched that. I could remember wanting to my hair like one of the characters for the longest time.

Over the years I stopped watching things like that, I got more into One Tree Hill, Glee, Family Guy, etc. Then I started watching Being Human, and last night as I was up late browsing YouTube I came across a video of Alice. Alice was a mini-series put out last year by SyFy which is a take on Alice in Wonderland only set more in the future. I haven’t watched it yet, but I plan on it and I will probably review it once I do. Because, as you may know, I become obsessed with things easily, my eye was caught by Hatter.

Hatter is played by Andrew Lee Potts who also stars in the show Primeval. Now if you hate cheesy I really don’t recommend this show for you, because its very cheesy. Of course this only drew me in more, and now I can’t stop watching it. I think I may also start watching Doctor Who, and Skins. Though Skins isn’t like the other shows, but I also used to watch 24/7 when it played on The N.

I really don’t know if its the accents, the camera work they use, or just the fact that I tend to like the dialogue more but I think I may be changing my tastes completely. I can’t get enough of these shows, even though I tend to not like British film. Hell, I might even watch the British version of the Office, then I may never shut up!!!!

This is Lauries latest obsession, who knows what it will be next week. Maybe I will be writing about my not-so secret love for Julia Nunes. Hell, at least I’m writing :D .

British version of The Office is an absolute MUST. Alice actually sounds pretty intriguing, at least to give a shot to. When and what channel is it on?

I just knew you were going to say that… and I plan on it. They play in on SyFy from time to time, I got it on disc :D .
