Depending on what kind of gamer you are when you think “adventure gaming” there may be several classics that enter your mind or perhaps you have a more “modern” (aka wrong) view of adventure gaming. So for example, you could have memories of Zork, Return to Zork, King’s Quest, Mixed Up Mother Goose, Leisure Suit Larry, The Longest Journey, or Zelda (one of these things is not like the other).

An old cliché states that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. If that is the case, then 80’s mega-producer Glen Larson spent a large portion of his career kissing ass all over Hollywood. Through successes and failures, accusations and lawsuits, Larson soldiered on, though to the careful observer, it was never a secret where his “Creations” sprang from. Read more »

It’s that time again friends, time for just over an hour of cussing and bad jokes. all while attempting to discuss the latest burning news in the video game industry. I hear there is a cream for that burning sensation these days, but that could be just a rumor. This week the crew discussed a bunch of stuff including

I remember a lot of things from growing up. While not all of them are fond memories, one that immediately springs to mind is that of the Disney Afternoon, which to me was like Saturday morning cartoons, but immediately after school. So basically, it was crack for kids…on TV. I guess you could liken it to any one of a number of shows we watch now and get hooked on like House, Lost, or Fuck All I Don’t Watch TV Much Anymore Since I Was Fired.

Plagiarism is fun… or so the WWE would have us believe. And it starts off our episode of SmackDown! tonight… The usual review by a tired old smark premise remains. Not a recap! Now let’s go steal the creative ideas of others!!

This is mostly a review of RAW (not a move by move recap… as always). I did catch NXT in a drunken haze late on Sunday morning… it was alright. I covered this weeks Vintage Collection as well. You get the random news, etc. too! YAY! Oh, and this could be my last regular RAW review for Mondays for some time to come. You see, starting next week, iMPACT goes head to head with RAW on Monday nights. Since we got two regular RAW guys here, and there is no way I can pull off two 2 hour events on Monday, things are going to get shaken up here at Project Wonderboy!
With that said, let’s rock some RAW, folks!

I am sure like me, many of you have played video games online. It’s a fun, relaxing hobby that I have enjoyed since my parents bought a commodore 64. (Ha I am old) The biggest draw back to playing games online with other human like creatures has been cheating. Sadly some people don’t like to take the time or put in the effort it takes to become good at a game or genre naturally. So they invent or find hacks and cheats to make them seem better. Recently I was calmly informed by a friend of mine that some of the new blood in gaming has decided that using in some of these tactics isn’t wrong. In fact according to my source they see those that are against it as old and out of touch. My response was a string of curse words that would make any sailor blush. While pure rage is the correct response to that stance on cheating, after thinking about it for a while I feel like digging a little further in to this insane notion.

Dear Lord it’s another one. That’s right the three amigos from hell are back with more witty gaming banter. The idiot putting the thing together even managed to stay away from the booze long enough to post it in a timely manner. As always we rant, rage and make fun of things that have gone on in the world of video games. This week we rambled on about

Oh crap, it’s time to suffer through WWE’s superior brand, SmackDown. A place where wrestling takes the spotlight away from the over use of promos and interviews and matches are given time to develop. As per usual, I write this while I watch… it’s not a recap, it’s a friggin’ review.
Will tonight be any good?
Hell yes, go YouTube it, here’s why:

Introduction
An interesting question was posed on the most recent Wonderpod: do we weigh a game by its original series or as a standalone title? As much as I want to say that every game must be measured as a standalone title, meaning it doesn’t matter if all previous entries in a series have been excellent or made one way or whatever, sometimes it really does matter that a game is part of a series.

Prior to recaps or the intro to the show, we get Abyss telling a bunch of faces backstage the story of Hogan giving him the one ring… (Hogan’s WWE HOF ring) and how he can feel the power in it. He puts it on and giggles like little Gollum (and turns invisible). Then Jay Lethal dives at Abyss and bites his ring wearing finger off!!
OMG!! LOLCATZ!!! FUUUUUUUUU!!
Did I get all the memes in there?

A year or so ago I wrote an article on the top action heroes of all time. I touched briefly on the decline of Ahnold’s career, which at the time had hit a low point with Collateral Damage. Now, he’s banking on sequels to bring him back to the top, 52 year old wrinkled ass and all… But I’m not buying what he’s selling. After actually getting a chance to see T3 while still in the theater (a rare treat for me these days) I have to say that Arnold isn’t on his way out. He already left. Read more »

Look at what we have here fine people of Project Wonderboy. Why it’s another episode of Wonderpod. The web’s number one podcast as voted by people who hate Halo. It’s late this week as I selfishly decided to spend the weekend drinking as much as I could without dying in the process. This week we discussed.

-HOWDY! Sorry about not being able to make it last week. Events of an Olympic nature had my attention elsewhere. Lucky for you, the only events going on last night were Women’s Hockey (in which, Canada’s victory was a foregone conclusion) and Ice Dancing (which everyone knows is for “FAAAAAAAAAAAGS…”), so I decided to watch RAW instead. And good timing too, because I hear that there’s something called “WrestleMania” coming up…

First let me start by saying Mass Effect 2 is a good game. Great game? Well, it has potential, but there are things that really prevent it from being the best sci-fi, shooter, and/or RPG ever. Now some would argue that it doesn’t have to be the best ever, just better than the first one, which already was an excellent title. Sure, I can buy into that, but it’s also important to analyze the little things Bioware’s been doing that I sometimes agree with, but usually wonder about.
