A fairly steady week in the Power Poll, with only one wrestler from last week (Kurt Angle) falling out of the Top 10. But there’s a new No. 1, and reports suggest that he may indeed be awesome.

This year, EA Sports is offering up NHL 11, promoted as the most realistic Hockey Game EVER MADE. Broken Sticks and Faceoff shoving and all sorts of stuff that’s supposed to make the game seem more realistic. Oh, and a whole bunch of new teams that most people who play this game will never, ever play with.
So, I was thinking, I’ve played a lot of hockey video games in my young life. I haven’t played them ALL, but I’ve played enough. Would you like to read a small chronology of hockey video games? NO? Well, too bad, you are already intellectually committed! READ ON!!

I think when I started watching this movie I already knew I was going to love it. I just didn’t know I was going to like it as much as I did. I thought it was an amazing take on the story, and actually did things that were original. Of course I have to start of by saying that Tim Curry and Kathy Bates were just amazing in their roles. Kathy Bates makes a wonderful Queen of Hearts, I just bow down to her.

I think I am becoming obsessed with British shows. It all started last Sunday when we were sitting around the house, flipping the channels and came across Being Human. If you haven’t seen this show, I really recommend it, I think it is just so amazing. It’s about a Werewolf, Vampire, and Ghost who are trying to live… you guessed it as humans. I don’t know what it is about it, but it truly captured me from jump.

Hello baseball fans, welcome to this week’s edition of The Hot Corner. This week, we saw another significant trade chip change addresses. Also, we got to witness a pitcher fight his absolute hardest to stay in a game, and the Detroit Tigers suffer a couple significant injuries, which will certainly hurt their chances of contending for the division crown. So without further delay, let’s take a look back at the week that was.

I love top 10 lists, I think they show what a person is feeling at the time. Of course I always say for the moment (especially with music), because my tastes change all the time. But I also love to write, and I like to show people what I’m feeling. So without further ado this is my top 10 current songs.

It’s a me, Bruce McGee, here with another Wonderpod. As you’ll hear in show, we are now officially on itunes. That’s right we snuck on to the service, we are officially cool kids now. On top of putting the entire catalog on itunes we took time to record a new show and this week we made grunting noise about.

Another week, another Smackdown… hopefully my apartment won’t pretend to burn down again this time? Guess what, the alarm went off early Monday morning as well! Right after drinking my face off at the Calgary Stampede into the wee hours… I live on the top floor of an apartment building, and lucky me, people have been working on repairs all week… it wouldn’t be so bad if I didn’t have a night job. So needless to say, I’ve gotten very little sleep this week. Let’s see if Smackdown can keep me awake… Read the rest of this entry »

-Hey guys. I’m sorry that I’ve basically disappeared for a month. It’s a LONG story, one that I don’t care to get into at this moment, but the important thing is that I haven’t had one of my trademark abandonments of Pro Wrestling, as I have been known to have. LET’S DO THIS.

Hello baseball fans, welcome to a special edition of The Hot Corner. Because the MLB All-Star break took place this week, many teams only played 3 regular season games. So I’ve decided instead to take a look back at my preseason power rankings, and give a brief description of whether i hit or missed on each pick. This also kind of serves as a first haf MLB summary. So, enjoy.

Originally published on The 7th Level on June 26, 2006. I wrote this article while in Iraq and Final Fantasy 12 had been delayed several times. If I’m not mistaken, it was the last article I wrote before the famous “Summer of Gonzor” on that site. But T7L is long dead, and Gunsage’s recent article inspired me to repost it here, since almost everything in it is still relevant. Yeah, I’m lazy. Sue me.
Ah, Final Fantasy. The video game world in which everything and nothing is the same. They have come a long way from generic sprites capturing magical crystals for the King to full motion videos sprawling across entire worlds filled with different cultures and histories. You pretend to understand all the subtle nuances and deep, philosophical messages in the story, but you really have no clue what the hell is going on just like the rest of us. And you love every minute of it! Read the rest of this entry »
